Remembering Brandon LongFox

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Brandon Scott LongFox, Medicine Elk - He?ága Pežúda. Brandon’s journey ended on November 30th, 2024, after a long battle with Leukemia

He leaves behind a legacy of adventure, love and passion.


The funeral starts Thursday at 9:00 am at the Chief Nosey Center with the burial to follow at the LongFox Family cemetery out at EagleChild ranch at 11:00 am in Hays.

Born in Miles City, MT, Brandon grew up on the family ranch near Hays, MT, where he found joy in ranching, rodeo, and the great outdoors. A proud graduate of Hays Lodge Pole High School, he earned multiple degrees from Aaniiih Nakoda College and Montana State University - Northern. Brandon was a stand-out student at ANC. First he earned a Certificate in Carpentry in 2013, followed by an Associate’s Degree in Carpentry in 2014. Driven by a love for learning and his community, Brandon returned to ANC in 2016 to pursue business studies.



He served as Student Senate President, where he fostered connections through study groups and led with a heart for service. His passion for education culminated in his graduation in 2021 with dual Associate’s Degrees in Business Technology and Business Administration. He later went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from MSU-Northern in 2023, along with a Minor in Marketing.


Brandon’s adventurous spirit, love for his community, and unyielding determination were hallmarks of his life. Whether fishing, hiking, dancing at powwows, or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Brandon embraced every moment.


His family and friends remember him for his laughter, kindness, and favorite saying: "See you at the stronghold."


Rest In Peace, Brandon. You will be missed.


Brandon is survived by his sister Morgann (Sean) Stiffarm of Harlem, MT; his nephew Sean Stiffarm Jr. of Harlem, MT; sister Terri LongFox of Billings, MT; sister Kelly LongFox of Palm Bay, FL; sister Kathy (Ron) Poast of Council Bluffs, IA; sister Tammy (Steve) Kelsch of Bismarck, ND; sister Bobbi Jo (Mike Joyce) Zueger of Bismarck, ND; brother Shawn Duckett of Billings, MT. He had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, & friends. Brandon is proceeded in death by his mother Shelly (Fortune) LongFox, father Leon LongFox Sr., brother Leon LongFox Jr., Grandmother Wildene Fortune, Grandmother Violet (Sebastian) LongFox, Grandfather Leo LongFox.
