We are pleased to announce that Aaniiih Nakoda College (ANC) has been awarded a grant through the Administration for Native Americans (ANA) Social and Economic Development Strategies (SED) Grant. This funding will support our project, "Community-Driven Health Access and Workforce Development in Fort Belknap and Surrounding Region."

Our initiative aims to improve access to skilled healthcare on the Fort Belknap Reservation by expanding Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training and implementing trauma and critical care education for nursing students. This will help address significant health challenges faced by our community.

Dr. Sean Chandler, President of ANC, remarked, “This grant empowers us to fulfill our commitment to our community by developing a sustainable local healthcare workforce rooted in cultural understanding.” Additionally, Dr. Lynette Svingen, Director of Nursing Education, emphasized the importance of culturally relevant training, stating, “Our goal is to prepare our Nursing students to meet the unique healthcare needs of the community with respect and competence.”

For more information about the project, please contact Dr. Chandler via email at schandler@ancollege.edu

Together, we can build a healthier future for the Fort Belknap Indian Community and surrounding areas!
