WELCOME TO THE NEW AANIIIH NAKODA COLLEGE NEWSLETTER

Welcome to our first edition of the ANC Newsletter! We are excited to let you know what the college is doing! We are even more interested in hearing what you are doing! Our hope is to create an avenue of information that allows us to inform and to be informed.

Students who have graduated and moved on, we would love to hear from you! In each edition we hope to spotlight alumni and let people know about your successes and how education has assisted you in enhancing your life.

There are many exciting events and projects that Aaniiih Nakoda College is involved in. We hope to keep you informed about the college's accomplishments, as well as our hopes and plans for the future.

We also hope to hear suggestions and ideas from our community and students so that we can achieve our goal of providing the best post- secondary education in our area!



COMING FULL CIRCLE

Bryar Flansburg will be leaving Aaniiih Nakoda College to continue on her circle of life. In August 2014 she was accepted into the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing at MSU-Bozeman, and started this rigorous nursing program May 11, 2015. The accelerated program lasts for one and one half years. Bryar is a recipient of an Indian Health Service Scholarship. The scholarship pays for tuition, fees, books and a monthly stipend.

Flansburg graduated from the Allied Health Program at Aaniiih Nakoda College, went on to MSU-Northern and graduated in 2009 with a BS in Biology. Since August of 2011 she has been employed as a Tutor and Lab Assistant in the ANC Allied Health Program.

"DON'T BE OBLIVIOUS, BE AWARE" WAS A HUGE SUCCESS


Color Me 5K participants at the starting line
The first annual "Don't be Oblivious, Be Aware" Color Me 5k Run, held Friday, May 29, 2015, was a blast for all who participated.

Eighty-two runners and walkers were blasted with colored cornstarch at the beginning of the run, and there were three stations set up along route to blast participants with four more colors. All participants were winners. Door prizes were raffled off after the community event, while everyone feasted on sandwiches and a variety of fruit.
